One Eyeland Wildlife Photo Contest winners announced.

One Eyeland have just revealed their wildlife winners for 2022. It is a thrill for Jacha to be rankedĀ number two in the UK for wildlife photography in One Eyeland’s World’s Top Ten Wildlife Photographers.

Six out of the ten photographs Jacha entered were awarded prizes, giving him 21 points and putting him in second position in the UK. He narrowly missed out on being in the Top Ten in the World.

Patience and hard work pays off.

Photographing wildlife takes a lot of time and patience. Often it means spending hours in one spot to only come away with one decent shot.

Jacha has a passion for all wildlife and likes to use his photography to raise awareness of conservation issues. When he sells a photographic print he donates a percentage to the two wildlife charities he supports, which areĀ Ape Action Africa and Orangutan Appeal UK.

To be a part of One Eyeland’s World’s Top Ten Wildlife Photographers photo contest is a real honour for Jacha.

The winning shots.

Out of the ten photos Jacha entered into this years competition, six of them received awards. Three of the photographs received Bronze awards, one of which was Tryptic Flight – a shot of two Dalmatian Pelicans, but due to the high reflectivity of Lake Kerkini it looks like three Pelicans. The other two Bronze awards Jacha received were for an Orangutan mother and baby and a Lowland Gorilla.
