Interior design for a safari camp in Tanzania.

Jacha travelled to the Serengeti to put his artistic touch to a new safari venture.

A Serengeti adventure.

When a good friend of Jacha’s said she was moving to Tanzania to start her own safari company, it sparked Jacha’s creativity! Jacha and Shannon became friends through a mutual love of wildlife photography and in particular, African wildlife photography.

Shannon, originally from Chicago decided to upticks and move to Tanzania. Here she started the process of setting up her own safari company, Africa Eco Expeditions. Shannon secured a fantastic plot for her camp with unrivalled views and most importantly animal sightings.

Who you gonna call?

Having been friends with Jacha for a few years and being a fan of his artwork and interiors in the Alpine Apartments, Shannon called on Jacha for his help with the design of her tents.

Jacha drew out the plans for how to set the tents up and what to include in each one and sent them to Shannon. And once the structure of them had been set, he flew over to Tanzania to put together the interiors.

Jacha’s mixed media designs in the tents

Mixed media soft furnishings.

Back in 2020 Jacha created a collection of mixed media collage artwork. He later developed these into soft furnishings including cushion covers and tablecloths. He used this collection as inspiration for the interior design of Shannon’s tents.

To break away from the traditional khaki’s and brown’s usually found in safari tents, Africa Eco Expeditions has a pop of colour like no other! Jacha has made a real statement with his interior design that will live long in the memory of guests.

Plastic fantastic.

With a nod to the ingenuity of the local people in Tanzania, who can create all sorts from materials you would never think to use. And using his own renowned creative skills, Jacha once again turned to waste plastic to create a real talking point for the camp. The chandeliers in camp are unlike any others you will see on safari. They are made using recycled plastic that otherwise would have ended up in landfill. Check them out below.
