The beginning of a fantastic trip. Jacha and Suraj

In March 2020, Jacha and Gwyn were set for another trip to the Ranthambhore National Park in India. Of course a certain global pandemic put paid to that. However, fast forward to June 2022, the trip was rearranged and good to go.

Sightings to remember

Although Tigers are the main focus of the safaris in Ranthambhore, the scope of potential wildlife spots is vast. On the five occasions Jacha has visited India he has hoped to see a Sloth Bear. This year was finally the year he would get to see them! In actual fact they had five separate sightings, including a mother bear with her cub.

A dynamic duo

A special mention must go to Suraj and Hemraj Meena. Hemraj is a very successful naturalist and guide, he put together all the plans for this trip. Hemraj’s sister, Suraj is the only female guide in Ranthambhore and like her brother very successful in her own right.

Suraj can read the park perfectly to be in the right place at the right time. This always makes for a magical trip to Ranthambhore National Park. This trip, the sightings came thick and fast. Not only were there Sloth Bear sightings, but also Leopards, an array of birds and tigers hunting.
